Description
Fifteen years back, Lt. Colonel Kirby Yorke's devotion to military duty led him to destroy the plantation home of his southern-born wife during the Civil War. He is now a lonely man, fighting Indians in the west. Returning from his latest skirmish with the Apaches, Yorke finds that his son Jeff--enlisted as an ordinary soldier after failing at West Point--has been assigned to his command. Kirby's estranged wife, Kathleen, has also arrived at the fort in an effort to buy her son's way out of the army. A group of renegade Apaches keeps eluding Yorke by crossing the Rio Grande into Mexico, but he plans a raid in hopes that it will end the problem for good.
